Program Information

Surveillance PeopleThe Office of Epidemiology is a section in the Center for Epidemiology, Preparedness and Response.

Staffed with trained epidemiologists, the office provides epidemiological support to Columbus Public Health and the community.

We work to help improve the health of the Columbus community by:

  • providing health-related data and information about Columbus and Franklin County residents and neighborhoods, in the form of reports, presentations, fact sheets, and newsletters
  • monitoring, identifying, investigating and reporting on emerging health threats in collaboration with public health partners at the local, state and federal levels
  • providing support to internal and external customers who want to use data effectively in community health policy, planning, and programming decisions.
  • building capacity (in the community and within CPH) to promote the appropriate collection and use of health-related data and information.
