Medical Records

stack of notebooksRecords Management stores the medical records of some of the clients who have been served by the Columbus Health Department.

The Records Management staff makes sure that these medical records are kept confidential, are complete and available when our clients need them.

The most common reasons people need to obtain their medical records include:

  • To send to doctors or hospitals that are treating them
  • For insurance companies to prove that services and treatments have been received
  • For legal reasons, such as requests from lawyers or the courts

Medical records are released only to people or groups that are permitted by law to receive them.
