The Lead Poisoning Prevention Program works with our Healthy Homes Program to provide childhood lead testing and medical follow-up services for children with lead poisoning in Columbus and Worthington. We also conduct environmental assessments and interventions to eliminate exposure to lead. Education and consultation services about lead poisoning prevention also available.
Available for children 6 months to 6 years of age. Held at Columbus Public Health twice a month*, on the second Thursday from 8:00 am - 11:00 am, and on the third Tuesday from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Other testing times may be arranged by appointment.
*Anyone who plans to attend one of the scheduled Columbus Public Health child lead testing clinics should call in advance to schedule an appointment. This will be necessary until further notice due to possible last minute cancellation of the lead testing clinics. Please call 645-5315 if you would like to have your child tested.
Lead is sometimes used in the production of toys, and exposure to lead is potentially hazardous, especially to children. Recall updates and additional information can be found through the Consumer Products Safety Commission at: http://www.cpsc.gov/
