Biking more and driving less is good for your body. It helps prevent overweight and obesity, as well as the health conditions associated with them. Biking is good for your heart and muscles, helps you manage your weight, and gives less impact on joints than other types of exercise.
Many people also feel biking is a great way to relax or spend time with family being active together. Biking is also good for our environment, reducing air pollution.

Crank it Up! Mayor’s Bike Columbus Twilight Ride – Friday, July 12
Join Mayor Michael B. Coleman for his annual Twilight Ride July 12 at 6:30 pm. Riders can choose between 10 and 25 mile routes through downtown’s vibrant neighborhoods highlighting some of Columbus’s best scenery including the Scioto Mile, architectural gems, and parks. The event begins and ends at COSI. Riders will enjoy food, drinks and Rhythm on the River at Bicentennial Park following the ride; bike parking will be available.
Cost is $25 for the ride and $10 for a newly designed 2013 Twilight t-shirt. Proceeds will provide bikes and helmets to children in needs and support bike safety initiatives throughout Columbus. City, corporate and non-profit teams are encouraged and the largest ones receive prizes.
