Dental Sealant Program

This school-based program offers free protective dental sealants (plastic coatings) on the back permanent molars of 2nd and 6th grade students in the Columbus Public Schools. A dentist screens the students who have parent permission and teams of dental hygienists and dental assistants place the sealants with portable dental equipment at the schools.  Since 1986, over 53,000 Columbus school children have received preventive dental sealants on over 180,000 permanent teeth.
