Flu imageThe Office of Assessment and Surveillance is your source for local health-related data and information.   We work to help improve the health of the Columbus community by:

  • providing health-related data and information about Columbus and Franklin County residents and neighborhoods, in the form of reports, presentations, fact sheets, and newsletters
  • identifying, investigating and reporting on emerging health threats in collaboration with public health partners at the local, state and federal levels
  • providing support to customers who want to use data effectively in community health policy, planning, and programming decisions.
  • building capacity (in the community and within CPH) to promote the appropriate collection and use of health-related data and information.

Men's Health Local Profile - Franklin County (released 2009)
This report was developed to provide readers with a profile of men's health at the local level.

Key Community Health Indicators (updated 2008)
Contains the latest data for Franklin County and Ohio on a wide variety of measures within the areas of the leading causes of death, communicable disease, maternal and child health, prevalence of health risk behaviors and conditions, environmental health and access to health care.

Indicators at a Glance - 2005 Franklin County Community Health Risk Assessment (released July 2008)
Lists local demographics plus 26 indicators of adult health status, health risk behaviors and health-related characteristics of Franklin County residents based on a telephone survey.

Women’s Health – A Local Profile (2006)
This report was developed to provide readers with a profile of women’s health at the local level. It provides information on health behaviors, health status, and health care utilization of Franklin County women and is intended to be a reference for those interested in improving the health and well-being of local women.

Contains information on adult and child health status, health risk behaviors and health-related characteristics of local residents based on a telephone survey.
