Columbus Public Health’s Alcohol and Drug Abuse Program works to reduce alcohol and other drug abuse, addiction, and related problems in Columbus. We provide high quality, effective and culturally sensitive services for a healthier and safer community. Our approach focuses on three main areas: Prevention, Intervention, and Outpatient Treatment. This program is certified by the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services (ODADAS).
No one is denied services due to an inability to pay a fee.
Y.E.S. (You’re Extra Special)
A child-centered education prevention program for children whose lives have been affected by alcohol and other drug use. This 12-lesson support and education group is for children ages 8-13. YES Brochure
School and community-based program for students ages 14-19 that focuses on goal setting, healthy relationships and coping strategies.
Substance abuse general education designed for individuals and their families who do not need treatment or driver intervention services.

"Saving Our Selves" - HIV & Alcohol & Drug Outreach
Community outreach, education, screening, and referral to assist young adults, ages 14-25, in addressing HIV, sexual health, alcohol and other drug use issues.

HIV and sexually transmitted disease education, counseling, and testing provided at alcohol and other drug abuse services agencies
Assessment, Case Management, Individual & Group Counseling
Gender-Specific Intensive Outpatient Treatment
Gender-specific services for persons with chronic relapse histories
Unity - Africentric-based Treatment for Men
Unity is an outpatient alcohol and drug treatment program for African American men who want to stop using alcohol and other drugs. Unity’s purpose is to help African American men stay free from alcohol and other drugs
Reduces substance abusing behaviors of women by addressing women’s specific needs & reducing the barriers of childcare, transportation, and financial issues. Women 18 years and older who want to stop using alcohol and other drugs
